Sweet udon noodles kneaded with pumpkin flour
Nanbu Ichiro Kabocha Udon
Hondera area in Genbi, Ichinoseki City, which used to be called Honedera Village, was a manor owned by an intendant of Kyodo, one of the important buildings at Chuson-ji temple. The area’s sweet pumpkin named Nanbu Ichiro and local wheat flour are kneaded together to become Nanbu Ichiro Kabocha Udon. The flour made from the specialty pumpkin, which is said to be as sweet as mangos, adds natural sweetness and pleasant colour to the noodles. The flat, chewy udon goes down your throat very smoothly.
