Mackerels that are referred to as ginsaba (premium mackerels) are the ones that grow in the rough waters at a latitude of 40’ 30” north, have plenty of fat, and weigh as much as 800 to 1,000kg. For those who love this fish, Hachinohe Ginsaba Don is such a mouth-watering dish. It made to the final stage of the 4th Japan Local Bowl Dish Competition held in Tokyo in November 2012.
