Jakoten

A very popular dish that everybody in Ehime Prefecture knows.
This is a fish paste product made with fresh small fish from the Uwa Sea, minced, shaped into oval balls and deep-fried. The name came from “zako (small fish) ten” altered to “jako ten.” Jakoten has a rich condensed flavor of small fish, and is also rich in nutrition such as calcium, DHA, and EPA.
