Takoyaki
Takoyaki is a sort of round shaped fritters made by pouring the mixture of flour and water into a special round-shape griddle, then adding a small piece of octopus, shredded naganegi, benishouga, tenkasu, and grilling all together into a ball. The origin is unknown, but there used to be a similar dish called "radio yaki" with Suji meat sold at stalls in the Taisho period, then octopus was used instead after the post War period, and it is thought to be the origin of Takoyaki. There are a number of chain shops of Takoyaki today, and Takoyaki is a popular food all over Japan.
