Kitamoto Tomato Curry won the first prize in “9th Saitama B class gourmet championship” in 2011. In order to be qualified to use this name for their menu, local restaurants have to offer tomato curry with red rice cooked with tomato and curry with much tomato inside. Many restaurants in Kitamoto offer varieties of Tomato Curry from using sweet tomato in spicy curry to adding mini tomato in a hamburg topped on the curry. Currently 5 restaurants offer Kitamoto Tomato Curry in Kitamoto.
