Imomochi

Imomochi is a traditional food of Saga made with sweet potatoes instead of rice since the harvest of rice was not abundant in the area. It is still a staple snack and you can find it at supermarkets. The imomochi today is made very tasty with carefully selected ingredients such as organic "beniazuma." It is a popular everyday snack for the locals as it is made with the natural sweetness. The sweetness of the sweet potatoes would be enhanced by slightly heating imomochi.
