Town’s specialty making a debut at the 4th Japan Local Bowl Dish Competition
Mitane Jun Tendon
Mitane Town, which boasts the largest crop of Junsai, a kind of waterweed found in ponds, launched a council to promote recipes using the plant, and developed a new local dish, Mitane Jun Tendon. Mix a bowl of rice with chopped plums, which are also the town’s specialty, and top it with deep-fried Junsai. The excellent texture of fried Junsai goes perfectly well with the plum-flavoured rice.
