Honetsuki Tori

Honetsuki tori is a traditional dish that has been enjoyed in Marukame city, Kagawa prefecture since more than half a century ago. The chicken on the bone, seasoned with traditional garlic and spice and grilled carefully in an oven, has crispy surface and a juicy flesh. It goes so well with rice and alcohol! The first honetsuki tori was born during the times when meat was still a luxury, when a restaurant owner in front of a station saw a movie star biting off a piece of fried chicken in a scene and thought he wanted to serve meat dishes that can be enjoyed dynamically as in the movie.
