Okinawa
A simple chicken soup with salt
Chicken Shinzu
Chicken Sinzu is a historical traditional local food in Okinawa. Sinzu normally means broth, but some people describe this chicken soup itself as Sinzu. Chicken Sinzu is Daikon, carrots and Konbu cooked in chicken broth and simply flavored with salt. Because it is simply salted, you can really taste the chicken broth and give elegance to this soup. Because ingredients of chicken Shinzu can be gathered in any homes, there are various variations to this dish both at home and at restaurants.
