Yakitori
Yakitori is chicken pieces (or sometimes beef or pork offal) grilled on a skewer. Uniquely named yakitoris are “Negima” - diced chicken and long green onion (Japanese leek) skewed and grilled, and "Bonjiri” - chicken tail meat skewed and grilled. Originally Negima was a yakitori with tuna fish and leek, and “Ma” of “Negima” came from Maguro (Tuna fish), but later on chicken was introduced and became a popular yakitori item. Two main dipping souses are “Shio” which is salt and “Tare” which is sweet and spicy with soy souse, sweet sake, sake and suger.
