Matsuzaka Horumon
Matsuzaka beef is the meat of female black Japanese cows that are grown in Matsuzaka city, Mie and around, and have not borne calves. It is a famous branded beef not only in Japan but overseas also. Matsuzaka horumon is the fresh horumon (small intestines) of this beef, which local grilled meat restaurants serve with homemade miso sauce or other sauces. It started with limited restaurants within the city, but as it was cheap and tasty compared to grilled Matsuzaka beef it became popular in other places also, and now it can be enjoyed in around 15 places in the city.
