Local nabe with wild board, a local traditional ingredient
Botan Nabe
In Chichibu region, there were a culture to eat wild boar which was hunted by the local hunters. Therefore, the local specialty in this region is called Botan Nabe which serves wild boar meat in a hot pot. Many local vegetables and wild boar are slowly cooked in the mild miso broth. This meat in the hot pot has a good resilient texture. If you prefer tender meat, then meat should be simmered for long time before eating. Normally, people associate with simmered meat being very hard but in fact, simmering will make it tender and flavored is much absolved in the meat.
