Matsuyama Age

Matuyama age, a kind of long-lasting deep-fried tofu invented in the Meiji era is a natural food made without any additives or GM soy beans. It was used in the kitchen of the Antarctic research expedition ship Shirase. Later, when the first train reached Matsuyama, it was named as Matsuyama Age. Today it has become one of the local specialties of Ehime. As seen on its package, “do not remove the oil in order to enjoy the taste”, it has a crispy texture and a good flavor. It goes well with various kinds of dishes.
